Judicial Vacancies in Georgia

26.03.2024

High Council of Justice has stipulated, through a decision, that the number of judges to serve in Georgia’s Common Courts should be 440. However, the current judiciary consists of only 332 judges. Unfilled vacancies for judges have been an unsolved problem for the judicial system for years.

It should be noted that a sufficient number of judges is necessary for the provision of quick and effective justice and the proper functioning of the judicial system. Leveraging the decisions of the High Council of Justice and data sourced from the official website of the Common Courts, Georgian Court Watch has meticulously compiled and analyzed information regarding the number of judges across each court. This data is visually presented in a graph for clearer understanding and analysis.
