Meeting with the MPs

On October 5, the representatives of the Georgian Court Watch met with the parliamentary opposition.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the amendments to the Organic Law on "Common Courts".

Georgian Court Watch presented recommendations on issues such as the promotion of judges; justification of the decision on the appointment of judges; evaluation of the candidate for the position of the judge (criterion of integrity); authority of the chairman of the court panels and chambers; deadlines for announcing the competition for vacant positions of judges; Obligation of judges to declare family ties in the judicial system; accountability of the judicial system; Transparency of the Supreme Council of Justice and others.

The Georgian Court Watch plans to submit more than 15 legislative proposals to the Parliament of Georgia.
