The Association of Judges of Georgia was founded on July 9, 1999 and unites almost all judges of Georgia. The association's statute was adopted by the Association of Judges of Georgia on June 26, 1999. which later underwent some changes. According to the current version of the statute, the association has the following goals:

  • Protection of independence, inviolability, impartiality, professional, material and social interests of judges;
  • Raising the prestige of the court authorities and judges and their role in the society;
  • Unwavering adherence to the principle of inadmissibility of dismissal and recall of a judge without grounds precisely defined by the legislation of Georgia;
  • Assistance in the selection of judges only from people with high morals, ability, principles, proper education and qualifications in the field of law;
  • Protection of the rights of each judge;
  • Development of legal profession, creation and establishment of norms of professional ethics;
  • Conducting seminars, trainings and various courses with the help of foreign and local specialists.

The association is managed and represented by the board, which is accountable to the general meeting of the association. The board of the association is elected by the general meeting, with the majority of the members present. The deadlines of membership of the board is determined by the term of 3 years. At the time of the formation of the association, its founders made up the board, whose chairman was Soso Mumladze, and the deputy - Zaur Gurgenidze.

An incumbent judge of Georgia can join the association. The issue of membership is decided by the board of the association. It is also possible to expel a member of the association if there is one of the following grounds:

  • Gross violation of the association's charter;
  • Non-payment of the 3-month membership fee due to an illegitimate reason;
  • Activities inappropriate for judicial activities.

The founders of the association are: Mzia Todua, Zaur Gurgenidze, Davit Doijashvili, Bando Vatiashvili, Nino Vashakmadze, Nana Kalandia, Mamuka Mamaladze, Soso Mumladze, Mamuka Nozadze (incumbent judge), Davit Sulakvelidze, Madi Chantladze (incumbent judge).

Information about the meetings held by the association is publicly available. However, the minutes of the meeting of 2000, 2002, 2006, 2009, 2011-12, 2014-15, 2017-18 and 2020-21 are not presented in the register of entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entities. The general meeting was attended by 181 members of the Judges Association. The chairman of the session was Levan Murusidze, and the secretary was Miranda Eremadze.

At the session, the members of the board of the Judges Association were elected:

  • Giorgi Mirotadze with 178 votes;
  • Khatia Ardazishvili with 171 votes;

July 9, 2016

177 members of the Association of Judges attended the general meeting. Miranda Eremadze was the chairman of the session, Tamar Burjanadze was the secretary. At the meeting, the annual report of the association's activities was approved and the members of the board of the Association of Judges of Georgia were elected.

Board members were elected:

  • Levan Murusidze with 139 votes;
  • Levan Tevzadze with 133 votes;
  • Davit Mamiseishvili with 133 votes;
  • Miranda Eremadze with 126 votes;
  • Giorgi Mirotadze with 121 votes;
  • Dimitri Gvritishvili;
  • Temur Gogokhia with 117 votes;
  • Vasil Roinishvili with 114 votes;
  • Irakli Shengelia with 113 votes.

On the same day, at the board meeting, Levan Murusidze was elected as the chairman of the Association of Judges of Georgia for the first time, and Miranda Eremadze as the executive director.

Before that, from April 19 of the same year, Miranda Eremadze was the chairman of the board for about 3 months.

July 21, 2013

132 members of the Association of Judges attended the general meeting. The chairman of the session was Zaza Meishvili, and the secretary was Nino Sandodze. At the meeting, the annual report of the association's activities was approved and members of the board of the Association of Judges of Georgia were elected.

Board members were elected:

  • Davit Mamiseishvili with 113 votes;
  • Zaza Meishvili with 126 votes;
  • Irakli Bondarenko with 110 votes;
  • Miranda Eremadze with 117 votes;
  • Gocha Abuseridze with 113 votes;
  • Giorgi Goginashvili with 113 votes;
  • Levan Nutsubidze with 112 votes;
  • Giorgi Arevadze with 113 votes;
  • Paata Katamadze with 98 votes.

On the same day, at the meeting of the board, Zaza Meishvili was elected as the chairman of the board for the second term, Giorgi Goginashvili as the executive director.

May 15, 2010

207 members of the association attended the general meeting. Zaza Meishvili was the chairman of the session, Nino Sandodze was the secretary. At the meeting, the annual report of the association's activities was approved and members of the board of the association were elected. Since 8 members of the board had completed their term of office.

  • Paata Silagadze with 145 votes;
  • Zaza Meishvili with 170 votes;
  • Nino Sandodze with 160 votes;
  • Malkhaz Okropirashvili with 142 votes;
  • Giorgi Arevadze with 143 votes;
  • Paata Katamadze with 159 votes;
  • Levan Tevzadze with 143 votes;
  • Mamuka Akhvlediani with 175 votes.

On May 18 of the same year, at the board meeting, Zaza Meishvili was unanimously elected as the chairman of the association. And the executive director - Paata Silagadze.

December 27, 2008

233 judges/association members attended the general meeting. The chairman of the session was Zaza Meishvili, the secretary - Paata Silagadze.

The results of the activities of the Georgian Judges Association were approved at the meeting. Also, the members of the association named Naira Gigitashvili, Giorgi Chemia and Lasha Kochiashvili as candidates for membership of the board of the association. Voting was held in connection with the mentioned issue and the results were distributed as follows:

  • Naira Gigitashvili received 78 votes;
  • Giorgi Chemia received 119 votes;
  • Lasha Kochiashvili received 47 votes.

Accordingly, Giorgi Chemia was elected as a member of the board of judges association.

March 24, 2007

9 members of the association attended the board meeting.They elected the chairman of the board and the executive director. Zaza Meishvili is the chairman of the Association of Judges of Georgia, and Vakhtang Tordia is the executive director.

On the same day, a general meeting of the association was held, attended by 171 members. The chairman of the session was Ketevan Dugladze, and the secretary - Khatuna Arevadze. At the meeting, it was decided that the authority of the board of the union and the audit commission was prematurely terminated, the decision was adopted unanimously; also, amendments were made to the Union's statute, the decision was unanimously adopted.

9 members of the association, out of 13 members, participated in the board meeting. At the meeting of the board, the incumbent chairman at that time, Mzia Todua, explained that from November 1, 2005, based on her own statement, the authority of the judge was terminated by the decree of the President of Georgia. Therefore, it was demanded to terminate the authority of the chairman of the association's board. The board unanimously decided to terminate the authority of Mzia Todua as the chairman of the board. At the same meeting, the new chairman of the board - Nino Gvenetadze was elected.

February 28, 2004

171 members out of 271 members of the association participated in the general meeting. The meeting was led by the chairman of the board Mzia Todua. The members of the board and the audit commission were elected.

June 23, 2001

The session was led by the president of the association, Soso Mumladze.At the general meeting, the activity report of the association for the last 2 years was discussed. Also the issue of opening a branch in the city of Kutaisi and changes to be made in the statute. The general meeting unanimously supported the opening of the Kutaisi branch and the appointment of Shalva Khachapuridze as a chairman.

June 26, 1999

The general meeting of the association was chaired by Soso Mumladze. At the meeting, issues of establishing the association and approving its charter were discussed.In addition, the following members of the board were elected:
