On July 16, 2022, a meeting of the Court Watch network was held in Rustavi at the initiative of the Georgian Court Watch.
The meeting was attended by active citizens interested in judicial matters, who expressed their interest in joining the project. The meeting was led by the Director of Georgian Court Watch, Nazi Janezashvili, and the legal expert of the project, Ana Shalamberidze, also - invited speaker, Director of the Rule of Law Program of the "Democratic Initiative of Georgia", Gvantsa Tsulukidze, who spoke about the role of civil society in improving the judicial system and shared his experience with network members.
As the director of Georgian Court Watch, Nazi Janezashvili, noted, the organization will regularly carry out awareness-raising activities for network members, as well as joint advocacy on specific challenges in the field of court and search for solutions.
The Court Watch network was created within the framework of the project "Involvement of active citizens for a better judicial system". The project is implemented by the Europe Foundation, within the framework of a grant from the Danish International Development Agency.
The goal of the project is to improve the independence, impartiality, and effectiveness of the court through civil participation, monitoring, and advocacy. Accordingly, Georgian Court Watch created a network of active citizens in Kutaisi and Rustavi.
