On August 6, 2022, another meeting of the court watch network was held in the city of Kutaisi on the initiative of the Georgian Court Watch.
The meeting was attended by active citizens interested in the judicial topic, who expressed their interest in joining the project. The meeting was chaired by the Director of the Georgian Court Watch, Nazi Janezashvili, as well as the invited speaker, Kakha Tsikarishvili, who spoke about one of the most important challenges in the court system, speeding up court proceedings and managing the flow of cases.As Nazi Janezashvili, director of Georgian Court Watch, noted, part of the meeting was devoted to the identification of problems in the court and the development of the advocacy plan. The network will actively continue to work on developing an action plan and addressing the issues that have been identified as the highest priority by network members after brainstorming.
The Georgian Court Watch network was created within the framework of the project "Involvement of active citizens for a better judicial system". The project is implemented with the financing of the European Foundation, with a grant from the Danish International Development Agency.
The goal of the project is to improve the independence, impartiality, and effectiveness of the court through civil participation, monitoring, and advocacy. Accordingly, Georgian Court Watch created a network of active citizens in Kutaisi and Rustavi.
