Georgian Court Watch conducted a training for journalists on the Court Efficiency Index

On July 29-30, 2023 Georgian Court Watch conducted a training for media representatives dedicated to the study - "Court Effectiveness Index", legislative changes related to common courts of Georgia and jury trial. The training was attended by journalists, producers, editors and presenters from various media outlets.

Court Watch's director - Nazi Janezashvili, legal consultant - Ana Chikovani, legal analyst - Salome Kvirikashvili and research expert Maia - Bakradze reviewed the indicators, work process, evaluation system and challenges of the Court Effectiveness Index.

Eka Areshidze, the judge of the Tbilisi City Court's criminal law chamber presented and shared her experience about the jury trial with the participants. Journalists took part in interactive activities related to both the common court system and the jury trial. During the event the discussion was held among participants and speakers.

The meeting was held within the framework of the Court Watch's Project "Georgian Court Effectiveness Index" with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Within the framework of the same project, the Court Watch regularly carries out awareness-raising activities for media and civil society representatives regarding specific challenges and solutions in the field of the judiciary.
